Frequently Asked Questions - preschool

The entire enrollment process takes place online. The first step is filling out the application form on our website. After we receive the form, we will reach out to you with information on our facility. If you decide to enroll your child to our preschool, we will ask you to fill out two forms that will enable us to prepare education documents. Once the documents are signed and the enrollment fee is paid, your child officially becomes a part of our community.

Parents can request for 10% discount if they enroll more than 1 child in Wawel International School.
For the third child, there is a 15% discount on the tuition fee.

Additional costs include:

- day trips and overnight stays

- meals

- extracurricular classes

- books

The enrollment fee should be paid on the day you sign the education agreement.
The education fee is paid in 10 monthly instalments by the 10th day of each month.
The beginning and end of the school year take place in accordance with the calendar of the Polish Ministry of Education.

The kindergarten is open from 7:30 am to 5:20 pm.

In our preschool, children learn content from the Polish core curriculum and the Cambridge Primary core.

Each group has two teachers - one speaks to the children only in Polish, the other only in English.

The groups consist of maximum 25 children.

Each group has two teachers: one English-speaking teacher and one Polish-speaking teacher. 
Our preschool enrolls children from all over the world.
Our teaching staff is prepared for situations when a child does not speak Polish or English. We support children in the process of adapting to a new situation and learning the language. At this educational stage, thanks to the language immersion methods we use, children learn the language very quickly.

Children go outside everyday no matter the weather, so it is important to equip them with clothes appropriate to the weather conditions on a given day. They either take a walk around the neighbourhood or spend the time on the playground. 
Each year the preschool prepares an offer with additional classes from which parents can pick the ones that interest them the most.
Examples of additional classes that were held in our preschool include: general development gymnastics with elements of acrobatic, zumba, pottery, robotics.
Children in our preschool do not wear uniforms. Uniforms are obligatory starting from Primary School. However, parents can buy merchandise with the school's logo - detailed information is available in the school's secretariat.
Preschool students obligatorily have meals from the catering. It is not allowed to bring any meals or snacks of their own.
Parents are able to order meals for their child through the online ordering system. Both meat and vegetarian options are available.
Children have one class of PE a week.
Nap time is not practised in our preschool.

If the enrollment decision is positive, we will ask you to fill out two forms that will enable us to prepare education documents. Once the documents are signed and the enrollment fee is paid, your child officially becomes a part of our community.
 
*In case of enrollment to grade 1, an additional enrollment step is the pedagogical exam conducted by a pedagogue in our facility. 
A school report/certificate from the last completed grade. If enrollment is taking place in the second semester of the school year, an additional report from the first semester should also be provided.
In case of admission to grade 1 of primary school, information about the child from kindergarten according to our template.
All documents must be translated into English or Polish.

In primary school, we implement the Polish core curriculum and the Cambridge Primary core curriculum.
The Cambridge Primary program is adapted for children from 5-6 years of age. Stage 1 of the Cambidge program corresponds to Polish grade 0, Stage 2, corresponds to Polish grade 1. Details are described here.

The groups consist of maximum 20 children.

In the Cambridge international curriculum class, all lessons, except Polish, are conducted in English.
Extracurricular activities and the aftercare classes are conducted in English.
In a classroom with a Polish core curriculum, all lessons except English are conducted in Polish.
Extracurricular activities and club activities can be conducted in Polish or English.
 
Children in an international class with the Cambridge program do not need to know Polish, they will learn this language as a foreign language.
 
Each year the school prepares an offer with additional classes from which parents can pick the ones that interest them the most.

Yes, students have official school uniforms, which they wear every Monday for the so-called official Monday. Parents can also buy everyday clothes with the school logo, such as polo shirts, sweatshirts, etc. The purchase is made via the website www.mark-mundurki.pl. 
Details for logging in and purchasing school uniforms are provided to parents after signing the education contract.

School students can optionally have meals from the catering, or they can bring their own meals and snacks.
Parents are able to order meals for their child through the online ordering system. Both meat and vegetarian options are available.
We provide care for students of grades 1-4 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:20 p.m.
Students of older classes waiting, e.g. for extracurricular activities, can wait in the so-called "quiet aftercare" under the care of a teacher-librarian.
In primary school, in grades 1-3, students have 3 hours of physical education, in grades 4-8, students have 4 hours of physical education.
